THE BLOOD CELLS HAVE CERTAIN ANTIGEN (PROTEIN) ON THE SURFACE. IF DURING BLOOD TRANSFUSION THE SAME BLOOD CELLS HAVING SIMILAR ANTIGEN IS NOT PROVIDED THEN THE OTHER ANTIGEN WILL LEAD TO THE DEATH OF THE CELLS, THEREFORE KILLING THE PERSON.
