Gondwanaland, is the name given to the more southerly of two supercontinents that were part of the Pangaea super continent that existed from approximately 510 to 180 million years ago. The Peninsular Plateau of India is the oldest landmass which was part of Gondwana land hundreds of millions of years ago. The Gondwana land included India, South Africa, South America and Antarctica as one single land mass. Due to the tectonic movements, the Indo Australian plate drifted after being separated from the Gondwana land towards the north. The Peninsular Plateau is considered as an oldest landmass as it was formed due to the drifting of the Gondwana land millions of years ago.
