that inherited trait that is not expressed will be recessive trait and one of the example of that is when a tall plant is crossed with dwarf plant their offspring (F1)will be tall and when that offspring are selfied then in next generation(F2) it will show tall/dwarf traits. This concludes that the offspring in F1 the dwarf traits were not shown because of tallness traits.(that are dominant)
