yes it is possible.... you can do this by using saturated compound (only single bonds) or any other method as carbon is tetravalent, has property to catenate and also the repulsion of positive charges is also not enough to break the bond...to satisfy octet, hydrogen atoms can be used...

It is possible to have million chain of carbon compound because of the property of catenation that carbon atom has. It has the self-linking property which enables it to form long carbon chains.
