Given Question

If it is required to increase the velocity of a scooter of mass 50kg from 5m/s to 25 m/s in 2 seconds .Calculate the force required.

Required Answer

Given:

• Mass of the scooter (m)= 50 kg

• Initial velocity (u) = 5m/s

• Find velocity (v) = 25m/s

To calculate:

• Force required (F)

Calculation:

We know that:

  •  \boxed { \large \bf \red { F= ma} }

Where,

F = force

m = mass

a = acceleration

Here, in order to calculate force required firstly we need to calculate acceleration of the object. Therefore,we know that:

  •  \boxed { \large \bf \red { a = \dfrac{v-u}{t}} }

Where,

a = acceleration

v = final velocity

u = initial velocity

t = time

Substituting values:

 \large \sf { a = \dfrac{v-u}{t}}

 \sf { ➠  a = \dfrac{25-5}{2}}

 \sf { ➠  a = \dfrac{20}{2}}

 \sf { ➠  a = 10m/{s}^{2}}  \purple { \bigstar }

Now, we have:

acceleration (a) =  \sf {  10m/{s}^{2}}

Mass of the scooter (m)= 50 kg

✤ Force required (F) = ? ( To be calculated)

 \boxed { \large \bf \red { F= ma} }

 \sf { ➠  F = 10 \times 50}

 \sf { ➠  F = 500N}  \green { \bigstar }

Therefore, Force required was 500N.
