It is very easy to break the piece of chalk into smaller particles but on the other hand an iron nail doesn't break even with a large force. Why?

When we hit iron nail it will not break after putting so much of force shape will get changed but it will not break. In chalk intermolecular forces are small so when we try to break it, it will easily breaks. In case of rubber intermolecular forces are weak after stretching it, it will break down.

Because particles of Iron are having strong interparticle force of attraction then chalk so it is hard to break iron..
We can also say that particles of iron are having strong force of attraction than chalk
