Ans:- 1 According to Electronic concept of redox reaction Oxidation is less of electrons and Reduction is Gain of electron

Ans:-2 1) 4 Na + O2 gives 2Na2O
In this reaction 4Na in reactent side and O in the product side is reduction or 4Na in L.H.S and 2Na in R.H.S is the oxidation.
2) CuO +H2O gives Cu+H2O
CuO in L.H.S or Cu in R.H.S is reduction and H2 in left hand side and H2O in right hand side is Oxidation.
3) MnO2+ 4HCL gives MnCl2+ 2H2O +Cl2
In this MnO in left hand side and MnCl2 in right hand side is reduction and 4HCL in left hand side and Cl2 is Oxidation

Ans:- 3 (A) Oxidizing agent is the substance which help in oxidation and itself get reduced
While Reducing agent is the substance which help in reduction and itself get oxide .
(B) (i) Zn + 2AgNO3 gives Zn(NO3)2 +2Ag
In this Zn(NO3)2 is Oxidizing agent while 2Ag is Reducing agent
(ii) Fe2O3 + 3CO gives 2Fe +3CO
In this Fe2O3 is Reducing agent
While 2Al is Oxidizing agent.
