Given that ,ABCDEFGH is a cuboid with

length (AB) = 20cm , Breadth (BC) = 18cm and

Height (AE) = 16cm. AX = 40cm

Here AX = AG + GX, AG is a diagonal.

∵Diagonal of a cuboid = √l²+b²+h²

∴ Diagobal AG = √l²+b²+h²

AG = √(20)²+(18)²+(16)²

AG = √ (400+324+256)

AG = √ 980

AG = √ 245×4

AG = 2√245

AG = 2√49×5

AG = 2×7√5

AG = 14√5

Thus, we got diagonal AG = 14√5cm

Now,

∵ AX = AG + GX

GX = AX - AG

GX = 40 - 14√5

GX = 40 - 31.305

GX = 8.695

GX ~ 8.7 cm

So, GX is equal to 8.695 cm

Hope it helps!
