The gradient of a line = Change in y/ Change in x

Gradient  = Δy/Δx

We notice that Tan∅ = Opposite/Adjacent = Δy/Δx

So;

Tan ∅ = 1/√3

and

∅ =  Tan Inverse 1/√3 = 30 degrees

The line makes 30 degrees with the x-axis
