The Feeling of Being a Hero
It's a pleasant summer twilight time.I plan to go out for a stroll to the nearby fields. I was stunned to see a strange animal kind of figure sitting near the tree. The field was silent; I was the only person in the field. Mustering some courage along with fear, I moved towards it, half alinged with the preparation of running with all my strength, if it was going to be something dangerous. But when I reached near it, I saw a little child sobing; he was wearing a costume of a alien. He was a fair child with cheeks as red as tomatoes. His eyes, filled with tears, seemed like stars in the dark sky.
I asked him who he was, where were his parents or he came with some relatives of his. But he could do nothing but just sob. I looked around, but there was no one to be seen as far as my eyes could see. I really didn't know what to do. I tried to ask again to the child, but he seemed to be afraid. I said that there was nothing to be feared; that I was there to help him. then I offered him some water and chips that I had carried to my way down the field. But he said that his parents have told him not to take anything from strangers.
It seemed difficult to become a friend to him, but I kept trying. The sun had already set, and it was becoming dark. I said him that if he will not tell him about himself or his parents or from where did he came, I would not be able to help him find his parents. He seemed convinced. He told that he came with his grandfather for a walk. But on his way he found a beautiful butterfly, and he started to follow it and came here. But he saw around, his grandfather was nowhere to be seen.
I told him that we should head to the police station. Giving him my phone, I assured him that if he feels that I would hurt him he can call the police. We headed towards the police station. Reaching there, I saw a old man shouting on the police in anger. I was delighted that he might be his grandfather, but after inquiring to the child I came to know that he didn't knew that old man. I told the police everything and handed the boy to the police and went home.
But whole night, I couldn't think anything expect the boy. The very next morning, without even having my breakfast, I ran to the police station and asked the inspector about the boy. He replied happily that the previous night two men came with the photo of the child to report his missing. They were very happy and asked him to say a very very thanks to me. He even returned my phone which I left with the child the previous day. That day i was very happy that I could help him and felt like a hero.
