ATQ, the length of the rectangle is 6 m less than thrice it's breadth.

let the breadth of the rectangle be x.

∴ length of the rectangle will be (3x - 6) m

given the perimeter of the rectangle 148m.

the formula to find the perimeter of a rectangle is 2 ( l + b )

⇒ 2 ( l + b ) = 148m

⇒ 2 ( 3x - 6 + x ) = 148m

⇒ 2 ( 4x - 6 ) = 148m

⇒ 4x - 6 = 148/2

⇒ 4x - 6 = 74m

⇒ 4x = 74 + 6

⇒ 4x = 80m

⇒ x = 80/4

⇒ x = 20m

hence, breadth of the rectangle = x = 20m

length of the rectangle = 3x - 6

= ( 3 * 20 ) - 6

= 60 - 6

= 54m
