It was a hot sunny day, Mrs. Sharma sprinkled water around her house as she had read that “Evaporation causes cooling”. Is it true, explain the reason for this effect.

yes it is true.

evaporation is a surface phenomenon.

it is the conversion of water to vapour at a temperature below irs booking point

hence it takes up heat from the surrounding causing a cooling effect to persist
