Step-by-step explanation:

a , a-2 , 3a are in A. P

therefore,

a - 2 - a = 3a - a + 2

- 2 = 2a + 2

2a = - 4

a = -2

Therefore,,,, value of a is -2

Since,

a , a-2 and3a are in A.P.

SO,

There must be a common difference.

i.e. (a-2)-a = 3a -(a-2)

➡️ a-2-a = 3a-a+2

➡️ -2 = 2a+2

➡️ -2 = 2(a+1)

➡️ a+1 = -2/2

➡️ a+1 = -1

➡️ a = -1-1

➡️ a = -2 ✔️✔️
