area of 1 strip=l×b=30×3=90
therefore area of 2 strips =90×2=180sq.cm
Now if they are put cross at 90°there interception will make a square whose area will be. l×l=3×3=9sq.cm
therefore area of cross=area of two strips-area of a interception
=180-9
=179sq.cm
