Given :-

Total children in school :- 500

Part of children playing :- {\tt\dfrac{4}{5}}

Part of children reading :- {\tt\dfrac{1}{10}}

To Find :-

Number of children playing and reading.............

Solution :-

Number of children playing :-

\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{4}{5} \sf \:  \: of \tt \:  \: 500

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{4}{ \cancel{5}} \times \cancel{500} = \dfrac{4}{1} \times 100}

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{4 \times 100}{1} = \dfrac{400}{1}}

{\tt \longrightarrow \cancel \dfrac{400}{1} = \boxed{\tt 400 \sf \:  \: children}}

Number of children reading :-

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{1}{10}  \sf \:  \: of \tt \:  \: 500}

{{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{1}{ \cancel{10}} \times \cancel{500} = \dfrac{1}{1} \times 50}}

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{1 \times 50}{1} = \dfrac{50}{1}}

{\tt \longrightarrow \cancel \dfrac{50}{1} = \boxed{\tt 50 \sf \:  \: students}}

\Huge\therefore 400 children are playing and 50 children are reading.
