${\red{\bigstar}}$ For more information, a participle is a type of verbs. They are somewhat similar with gerund i.e. participles ends with -ing form but they do not function as a noun instead act as a processing verb . It might also end with -ed.

e.g. He lighted the rooms. He came out to the hall.

➡️ Lighting the rooms, he came out to the hall.

Here the underline word lighting is a participle and the sentence is joined by participle.

➡️ Being lighted the rooms , he came out of the hall.

Here the underline word is a gerund and so the sentence is joined by a gerund.
