Answer:

The given statement is true.

Explanation:

The statement is from the short story An Astrologer's Day by R.K.Narayan. The first half of the story recounts the daily routine of an astrologer, who claims that he does not possess any spiritual power, but makes lucky guesses regarding his clients and makes his living off what his patrons pay him. To even look the part, he even garbs saffron robes and grows his facial hair out to look astute.

The second half of the story recounts what happens to the 'astrologer' on a particular evening when a man visits him and offers to pay much more than what the astrologer normally gets paid. The astrologer is able to answer all the questions that the man poses, and even gives him details of his life that the man did not expect to get answers to.

As luck would have it, the astrologer, in a bout of drunkenness, had once stabbed a man and had thrown him into a well. As it turns out, the man who had come to the astrologer was the man that the astrologer had attacked.
