cos(48°)sin(18°) - sin(48°)cos(18°) = -½

then take - sign common and you will get this,

sin(48°)cos(18°) - cos(48°)sin(18°) = ½ 

then apply the general formula ,

sin(A-B) = sinAcosB - cosAsinB and you will get this, 

sin(48°-18°) = ½

sin(30°) = ½
