I would suggest you decide if you prefer reading for pleasure or for information and choose some very high interest books or articles in that area, something you are really eager to read.
If you are a goal setter, do that - maybe start with two books and give yourself a month to read them.
Give yourself a time to read - on a bus or train is perfect but not while driving a car, and set a limit - at least 10 mins but better if you do half an hour.
If you get bored with what you are reading turn to the other book.
Always give yourself permission to stop reading if you lose interest … I would often persist with a book that I was not enjoying, feeling I was wasting something if I did not read every word but that is no fun at all.
Read every day. Read anything and everything that takes your interest - magazine articles, on line articles, children’s books, interesting blogs, recipe books, DIY instructions, big novels and short stories. (Short stories are my favorite read) read the back of the cereal box. For time off reading, do a cross word puzzle.
Think of reading as exercising your brain and your intellect. Your day is not complete without physical exercise and mental exercise.
