1. Marine-based industries use seafood and ocean products as raw materials, such as industries that process seafood or manufacture fish oil. When sea and ocean goods are used as raw materials, they are referred to as marine industries. For example, sea food processing industries,fish oil industry etc.
2. An industrial system consists of inputs, processes and outputs. The inputs are the raw materials, labor and costs of land,transport, power and other infrastructure. The processes include a wide range of activities that convert the raw material into finished products.
3. Sakchi was chosen to set up the steel plant for several reasons. TISCO, gets coal from Jharia coalfields, and iron ore, limestone, dolomite and manganese from Orissa and Chhattisgarh. The Kharkai and Subarnarekha rivers ensured sufficient water supply.
4. Ahmedabad is known as the “Manchester of India” because of similarity with the well-known cotton textile centre of Manchester, Great Britain and the following reasons. Ahmedabad is situated on the bank of Sabarmati River (like Manchester is located on the banks of River Irwell). Its water is good for dying thread.
