They are carnivores because they eat flesh of other animals.

They are scavengers as if they have no other choice then they'll eat a dead meal.

hi dear!

jackals are carnivores as they  feed on flesh of other animals.

   Scavengers consume the bodies of animals the scavenger did not kill.

jackals can feed on dead animal so they can be called scavenger.

in fact most carnivores can act as scavengers at some point of time...for their survival.
