. Jagat and Ramesh can run at the speeds of 6 m/s and 4 m/s respectively. Both start at the
same place at the same time and run in opposite directions. Find the distance between
them after one hour. ​

Suppose both start from point A.

Then according to the question Jagat and Ramesh both run in the opposite direction at the same time. Let Jagat runs in point B (from point A) and also Ramesh runs in point C (from point A).

The speed of Jagat is = 6m/s.

The speed of Jagat after one hour at the point B is = 6m × 60sec

= 360m.

Similarly,

The speed of Ramesh is = 4m/s.

The speed of Ramesh after one hour at the point C is = 4m × 60sec

= 240m.

Here it's clear that the distance between them after one hour is the total distance between them = (360 + 240)m

= 600m.
