Answer:

₹5 notes= 15, ₹10 notes= 12

Step-by-step explanation:

₹5 notes= x, ₹10 notes= y

==============

  • x=y+3
  • 5x+10y=195
  • 5(y+3)+10y=195
  • 5y+15+10y=195
  • 15y=180
  • y=180/15
  • y=12 and  x=15

Given:

No of 5 rupees notes is three more than the number of 10 rupees notes

Total amount= Rs.195

To find:

The number of each kind of notes that he has

Solution:

Let the number of 5 rupees notes be x and that of 10 rupees notes be y

So, we can write:

x= 3+y

Now considering the values we get,

5x + 10y= 195

Or, 5(3+y) + 10y = 195

Or, 15+5y +10y = 195

Or, 15y = 195-15 = 180

Or, y= 12

So, x = 15

The number of 5 rupees notes and 10 rupees notes are 15 and 12 respectively.
