Jake is 27 km away from his initial point and in the East direction.

  • Jake starts to travel from his home in the west direction and turns to his left that is in the south direction.
  • Again, he turns to the left that in the east direction. For travelling 2 km, he turns to his right which is towards the south direction.
  • Then, he turns towards the left for travelling 5 km. The direction here will be east.
  • The total distance will be 10 + 5 + 5 + 2 + 5 = 27 km.

( These types of questions can be easily solved by drawing four directions on paper and correctly pointing the distance imagining that you are standing there.)
