Cost price of 3 candles = 10
Cost price of 1 candle =10/3

Selling price of 5 candles = 17
Selling price of 1 candle = 17/5

Let the number of candles be x.

Profit of 1 candle = Selling price of 1 candle - cost price of 1 candle
= 17/5 - 10/3 =1/15
Profit of x candles = 100
Therefore, x = 100 × 15 =1500

She bought 1500 candles in all.

the c.p of one candle =10/3 rupees
the s.p of one candle=17/5 rupees

gain on one candle= s.p -c.p = 17/5 -10/3 =1/15 rupees
total gain =100 rupees
Therefore,
No. of candles Janvi purchased= total gain/gain on one candle = 100/1/15 =100×15= 1500 candles

Hence , she purchased 1500 candles.

Hope this helps you :-)
