It is Mrs packletide's vanity that had made her enact the tiger hunting drama. Her urge to outshine loona Binberton was nothing but an attempt to satisfy this vanity. Her posing for photographs and throwing a luncheon party with the tiger skin prominently spread in her drawing room reflects this vain lady's efforts to prove her superiority and become a celebrity. Mrs Packletide targeted Loona Binberton, but she herself was targeted by Miss Mebin. The manipulative Miss Mebin started blackmailing Mrs packletide. To keep her mouth shut and not reveal the fact that Mrs packletide had killed the goat and not a tiger, she had to pay an exorbitant price to Miss mebin. Therefore, we can say jealous leads Mrs packletide to unhappiness.
