Explanation:

The British historians have divided Indian history into three periods : Hindu, Muslim and British according to the religion of the rulers. This was first introduced by the Scottish economist James Mill. This was not right as the British historians did not pay attention to the cultural, political, social and economical changes that took place but rather were concerned by the religion of the rulers. Then, they rightfully changed the periods into Ancient, Medieval and Modern.
