Given:

Jimmy has 50¢ in his pocket amounting P 90.00.

His 10¢ coins  amounting to P 12.00

To find:

How many more 50¢ coins than 10¢ coins does  Jimmy have?

Solution:

We know,

\boxed{\bold{Philippine \:one-centavo \:coin  = 0.01\: Philippine \:peso}}

So,

50 ¢ = 50 × 0.01 ₱ = 0.5 ₱

10 ¢ = 10 × 0.01 ₱ = 0.10 ₱

The total amount of 50 ¢ or 0.5 ₱ coins = ₱ 90.00

∴ No. of 50 ¢ or 0.5 ₱ coins = \frac{90}{0.50} = 180

The total amount of 10 ¢ or 0.1 ₱ coins = ₱ 12.00

∴ No. of 10 ¢ or 0.1 ₱ coins = \frac{12}{0.10} = 120

∴ The difference between no. of 50 ¢ and 10 ¢ = 180 - 120 = 60

Thus, Jimmy has 60 more 50 ¢ coins than 10 ¢ in his pocket.
