Step-by-step explanation:

  • he read one quarter in one day ..
  • finished another half in day 2 .
  • means 1/4 in first day and 2/4 in second day then he remains..
  • 1/4 book ..

or

  • the possibility also can be
  • he read 1/4 in first day and 1/4 in second day ..
  • then he read 1/4 + 1/4 = 2/4 and he remains 2/4 of book to read ...

what is your answer according to your question ... I gave 2 answer because I didn't understand the question.. I am sorry but it will help you ..

Answer:

Jimmy left \frac{3}{8} of the book unread.

Step-by-step explanation:

Jimmy read quarter on first day ,that is \frac{1}{4}.

he left first day \frac{3}{4}.

Next day he read half of the remaining \frac{3}{4},

that is (\frac{3}{4} )(\frac{1}{2} )=\frac{3}{8}

hence all total he read \frac{1}{4}+\frac{3}{8} =\frac{2}{8}+\frac{3}{8}=\frac{5}{8}  of the book.

so remaining \frac{3}{8} of the book he left unread.

thank you
