QUESTION→

jogger jogs along one length and breadth of a rectangular Park are dimensions of a Parker 150 metre × 120 then find the distance travelled and displacement of the jogger

SOLUTION→

Distance travelled by the jogger = Perimeter of the rectangular park.

Given dimensions = 150m × 120m.

It means length =150 and breadth = 120

So,

Perimeter = 2(l+b) = 2 ( 150 + 120 ) = 2 × (270) = 540m.

Displacement is 0. As he starts from a point and reaches the same point.

So Displacement = 0.

Hence,

Distance travelled= 540m

Displacement of the jogger = 0

Let the length, AB=150 m

Breadth, BC=120 m

Distance travelled along ABC=150+120=270 m

Displacement travelled along ABC,

{AC} = \sqrt{ {AB}^{2}  +  {BC}^{2} }

AC =  \sqrt{ {150}^{2} +  {120}^{2}  }

AC =  \sqrt{ {22500} + 14400 }

AC =  \sqrt{36900}  = 192.09 \: m
