Complete Question :- Two persons A and B are jogging on the side of a 1640 meter long road. They start moving towards each other from the opposite ends of the road. A covers 430 meters straight turns towards his right and again runs 150 meters. He then turns towards his left and stops after covering 350 meters. B covers 670 meters straight and turns towards his left. He then runs 150 meters and stops. What is the distance between A and B at this point ?

Answer :-

from image we have,

  • AB = 1640 m .

Now, A starts from A :-

→ covers 430 m and reached at C = AC = 430 m.

→ Turns right and cover 150 m = CD = 150 m .

→ Turns left and cover 350 m = DE = 350 m => stops at E .

And, B starts from B :-

→ covers 630 m and reached at F = BF = 670 m.

→ Turns left and cover 150 m = FG = 150 m => stops af G .

then,

→ EG = AB - (AC + DE + FB)

→ EG = 1640 - (430 + 350 + 670)

→ EG = 1640 - 1450

→ EG = 190 m (Ans.)
