Let the questioner’s age be Q and that of his brother, B.

B = 4Q …(1)

B+5 = 2(Q+5) … (2), or

4Q+5 = 2Q+10, or

4Q-2Q = 10–5, or

2Q = 5, or

Q = 2.5, So B = 4*2.5 = 10.

In ten year’s time the questioner will be 12.5 years.
