no. of square = 1,4,9,16,25

no. of favourable outcomes = 5

total no. of possible outcomes= 30

probability = no. of favourable outcomes/total no. of possible outcomes

= 5/30

=1/6

Answer:

Probability of getting a card bearing a perfect square is 1/6.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 'S' be the sample space for the event of drawing a card out of 30 cards

Therefore n(S) = 30

A is an event to get a card bearing a number which is a perfect square

Therefore A = { 1 , 4 , 9 , 16 , 25 }

        n(A) = 5

Therefore p(A) = n(A) / n(S)

Substitute the values and you get

p(A) = 5/30

p(A) = 1/6

Therefore probability of getting a card bearing a perfect square is 1/6.
