It happen due to anoxia or it ' s body produces less rbc which lead to lesser oxygen hence heart pump more faster .

There are two reasons that justify jon's condition when he is hiking up on mountains

- As jon move away from the ground level, the amount of oxygen and pressure reduces and it is harder for his body to take in oxygen which is why he is exerting more force to take up the oxygen by breathing heavy.

- Unlike on ground, at high altitudes, the external pressure is higher than the pressure inside the body and it is harder for your veins to pump oxygen throughout your body which increases heart rate and blood pressure, as in jon's case.
