Answer: (a) for motion a to b

distance - 300m

displacement- 300m

time- 2 min 30 sec = 2 x 60+30=150s

ave. speed =total distance/ total time

                   =300/150 = 2m/s

ave. velocity = displacement/time

= 300/150 = 2m/s

(B) A to B to C

distance =300+100 = 400

displacement = AB-CB=300-100

                       =200m

time = 2.50+1.00=3.50 min = 210s

ave. speed = distance/time = 400/210=1.90

ave. velocity= displacement/time = 200/210

=0.952m/s
