Spinning : It is a process in which the fibres are converted to yarn.Yarn are used for subsequent processes such as weaving, knitting etc.Various types of cleaning (in case of natural fibres) are done here.

As you can see these is what happens in spinning process. The above picture is that of a cotton ball in cotton plant. In spinning process these cotton ball is converted to yarn via following process.

1.Plucking - Cotton ball are plucked from the cotton plant.

2.Ginning- Cotton ball that are plucked are separated from the seeds in these process . The seed is inside the cotton ball just like any other fruit. After separation they are packed in suitable manners known as bales and are transported for subsequent process.

3.Blowroom - In these process the cotton fibres are opened and cleaned thoroughly.Opening is done because it will give us more surface area so as cleaning can be done to more extent.Opening is done with the help of various kind of beaters ,blades etc.and also it is done in subsequent machines. The final layout is Sheet of fibres.

4.Carding- Also known as heart of spinning. Here complete indiviuastion of fibres takes place.Due to these we have maximum cleaning in these process and the sheet of fibres is converted to sliver which is a 10000 times thicker version of yarn.

5.Draw Frame & Speed Frame - In these process the fibre stretching is done so as to thin down the sliver . It is done with help of pair of rollars rotating at different speed. The final product if these wuld be roving which almost 100 times thicker than yarn

6.Ring Spinning Machine- These is the final machine in spinning where the roving is converted to yarn as shown in the picture below. Here in these machine twist is also imparted so as to give yarn the given strength.

Weaving - It is a process in which the interlacement of warp yarn and wep yarn takes in a suitable machine . Warp Yarn is that kind of yarn from which we can have mutiple end of yarn from a given package. While wep yarn is that in which we have single end .End means thread like thing. ie from a package of warp we can unwind mutiple thread(end) at a time while not in case of wept.

So now these interlacement process is known as weaving. There are various kind of weaving patterns depending on the end product that we have. The basic example is simple weave in which we have one warpy arn up of the wep yarn and besides the warp yarn is below the wept yarn.and it goes on like these. These is known as interlacment. These interlacement gives us the fabric which goes for dyeing and the garment is made from it.And there are several types of machines available for weaving such as powerlooms, air jet, water jet etc.

Knitting : It is interlooping of yarn . You may have seen your grandmother making an sweater with the help of needles. That process is known as knitting .Here the fabric is manufactured with the help of the loops.Knitting are of two types. Not to dicuss in details some examples of knitting are T-shirts,Socks etc.Cicrular Knitting Machine is the most famous machine in knitting fabrics manufacuted.

Basic Difference Between Knitting & Weaving is that all knitted fabrics are elastic in nature, porous in nature and also the fabric of knitted are stretched to fit.

Woven & Non Woven Fabrics —

1.Woven Fabrics- Those fabrics which are manufactured from yarn(i.e final product of spinning) are known as woven fabrics.E.g.-Shirt,Trousers,T-shirts,Socks,Undergarments etc

2.Non Woven Fabrics - Those Fabrics which are manufactured directly from fibres are known as non woven fabrics.Eg- Tissue paper.

Hope this will help you..... ✌
