Shillong, Friday 15th November 2019,

Two person, males in their thirties, were killed in head-on collision of a car and a truck. The accident took place in the national highway about two kilometres away from city. Three occupants of the vehicles received major injuries and were shifted to a local hospital by an ambulance. According to the hospital sources their conditions are critical. The deceased persons were identified as Rahul Sharma (34) and Himan Kumar (37) both are employees of government departments and posted at Shillong. The police have ascertained the cause of the accident as mechanical failure of the truck. The driver, who is among the seriously injured, lost control due to brake failure.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of the state of Meghalaya has assured a relief of Rs. 5,00,000 each to the families of the deceased persons and Rs. 2,00,000 to each of the injured persons. He also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
