                       ⇒40 = 2(l + 9)

                       ⇒40 = 2l + 18

                       ⇒22 = 2l

                    ⇒22/2 = l

                       ⇒11 = l

                      or l = 11
hence, length of Judy's patio =11 meter

Find - Length

Solution - Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

Keep the values in formula to find length.

40 = 2(9+ length)

Shifting 2 to other side of equation and performing division

9 + length = 40/2

9 + length = 20

Shifting 9 to other side of equation and performing subtraction

Length = 20 - 9

Length = 11

Hence, the length of rectangular patio is 11 metres.
