Answer:

£1.8

Step-by-step explanation:

2kg apples and 7kg pears = £12.70

1 kg pear costs £1.30

7 kg pear costs £(1.30×7)

=£9.1

2 kg apples costs £(12.70-9.1)

=£3.6

1kg apples cost £(3.6÷2)

=£1.8

let the price of apple be x and of pears be y.

then

ATP-

2x+7y=12.70

y=1.30

2x+7X1.30=12.70

2x+9.10=12.70

2x=12.70-9.10

2x=3.60

x=3.60/2

x=1.80

so the price of the apple is £1.80/kg.

THANKS
