Solution :

Let :

• Age of Julie be = x .
• Age of Mother be = 3x + 5 .

Now :

$\sf{3x + 5 = 47}$

3x = 47 - 5

3x = 42

x = 42/3

x = 14

Therefore , The Value of x is 14 .

Hence ,

Age of Julie = x

= 14 years

Age of Mother = 3x + 5

= 3(14) + 5

= 42 + 5

= 47

Therefore , Age of Julie is 14 years and Age of Mother is 47 years .
