Fossils are the preserved remains or traces of animals, plants, and other organisms from the past. They are important evidence for evolution because they show that life on earth was once different from life found on earth today. The living organisms have the habit of adaptation to any kind of environment by moulding there behaviour and changes in there life style. If all these fossils have been recorded and dared, it would easy to establish a time age of there presence and also the environment that existed during the period of earth's geological time.

Answer:

  • Von  Baer studies  the  embryo  development  in  different  vertebrates.
  • The vertebrates include  Fish,  Frog,  Tortoise,  Pigeon,  Chimpanzee  and  Man.
  • The  early stages of  embryos development  of  above  animals close  are similarity  with  each  other.
  • It is difficult to  separate  them  if  the  embryos were mixed.
  • But  the  embryos differ in  the final stages  due  to  the  formation  of  specialized  characters.
  • The  similarity  of  early embryonic development  indicate  that  the  above  animals  have  common  ancestors.
