Answer:

XYLEM IS A CONDUCTIVE TISSUE. XYLEM IS A PLANT TISSUE THAT CONDUCTS WATER AND MINERAL SALTS ABSORBED FROM THE SOIL TO ALL THE PLANT CELLS . THE MAIN CELLS IN THE XYLEM ARE TRACHEIDS, VESSELS , AND FIBER. THE TRACHEIDS FROM TUBES THAT COMMUNICATE WITH NEIGHBORING TUBES THROUGH PORES THUS HELPING IN CONDUCTS.

The cells of the epidermis are tightly packed together forming a mechanical barrier. This mechanical barrier is important to protect against bacterial infection and other harsh environmental conditions. The epidermis is covered by both cutin and cuticle( which provides waxy protective layer).
