Over the past few years, we’ve gained significant ground in getting major companies to move toward forest-friendly business models. You might think that means deforestation is beginning to be a thing of the past.
We want it to be. Unfortunately, threats to forests are only increasing. Just last year, the rate of deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon rose for the first time since 2008.

The needs of deforestation are:
- The woods or other plant resources becomes the source of income for farmers and other people, the woods derived from the forest can be used as fuel or building material, other plant resources like bamboo used as building material plus the removal of trees gives plane land filled with nutrients that can be helpful in agricultural productions.
- Deforestation helps in expansion of land for various man-made structures like road, community, theme park, factories etc.
- The resources obtained after deforestation can be used in various sectors like domestic, medicinal, offices, industrial, agricultural. These resources can become fuel, dietary products, paper material, and building and construction materials.
