Protons are constituents of all atoms

  • We all know that the major constituents of an atom are protons, ‘neutrons’, and electrons. The neutrons and the protons can be found in the ‘nucleus of the atom’.
  • This nucleus could be surrounded by an empty space where the electrons are revolved.
  • Atoms can be defined in terms of proton number (z). Here Z denotes the quantity of proteins they possess.
  • It has been observed that the charge and mass of the atomic nucleus of any element can be equal to the multiples of the charge and mass of the proton.
