Lencho is the main character of the story “The Letter to God.” He is a poor farmer who is the sole bread-earner of the family. He had faith in God. Lencho lived in a small house which was situated on the crest of a low hill in the valley. Because of the heavy rain and hailstorm, all of his crops got destroyed. Lencho planned to write a letter to God as he thought that he would be the only one to help him in his bad times. He wrote a letter addressing to God to send him 100 pesos so that he and his family can survive in such a difficult situation.

Answer:

A letter to God’ is a story of extreme faith in god. The story is all about how a poor farmer wrote to God asking for money and a postmaster helped him instead.

When the farmer found that the money was less than he had asked for, he wrote to God again, asking for more but not to send it via post because they were thieves.

The title is justified because it is all about faith and how God works in strange ways. There is also a slight irony in the fact that a human helped out but the faith was so strong that the farmer continued to believe that it was God.
