Justification:

The glimpses of India is a chapter in 10th English NCERT book (First Flight).

In this chapter, there are three lessons, which are:

1. A baker from Goa.

This is a pen-portrait of the bakers who are in Goa.

2. Coorg:

A small coastal town in Karnataka which is well–known for its beautiful scenery, spice, and coffee.

3. Tea from Assam:

This lesson briefly talks about the tea plantation in India.

Explanation:

All the lessons majorly talks about India. It doesn’t give the whole-view of the India but it widely tells about the people living in some small typical Indian towns. The people who are reading this chapter will get a glimpse of the habit, behaviour, and things people do in the small Indian towns.

It also widely talks about the natural wealth of the India which gives the overview of the India’s natural resources. The people reading this can purely understand that India is a country with good forest and natural resources.

So, this title is a suitable one for this chapter.

Answer:

the title a is significant as the chapter provides a glimpse that how the British East India company expanded its power in India and exploited Indians . how the robbed landlords and farmers of their land , created situations that led to famines and pushed patriotes to launch widespread massacres . finally Indians were against the British and were ready to revolt in 1857.
