Mirror has been personified as a human being in the poem. It is the mirror that speaks to the reader directly. From the first line 'I am silver and exact' to the last line 'Rises toward her day after day like a terrible fish', it is the mirror that addresses to the readers in first person. Actually it is Sylvia Plath that talks through the mirror. The mirror is ubiquitously present throughout the poem. So the title 'The Mirror' is justified.
