\bf{Chapter - \: The \: Lost \: Spring}

\bf{Writer - \: Anees \: Jung}

The title of the chapter signifies the condition of those children who have lost their childhood in garbage bin or in front of hot furnaces.

Spring refers to childhood which has been lost. The title is quite appropriate for the story as both of the children included in the story, Saheb and Mukesh lost their lovely days of childhood due to the vicious circle of poverty and caste stigma.

Saheb was a rag picker of Seemapuri who became a wage earner with his parents. He was yearning for school but due to being poverty-stricken he was unable. The only thing he had was garbage.

Mukesh belonged to a bangle maker family of Firozabad. He had strong desire of becoming a car machinist because he wanted to break the God given lineage.

In such a way, children like Saheb and Mukesh lost their graceful days of childhood.
