Explanation:

The electronic configuration of

Silicon (semiconductor) = 2,8,4

Boron(trivalent element) = 2,3

When we doped the trivalent impurities in the pure semiconductor. So it is clear from the electronic configuration of silicon and Boron that si has 4 electron in the valence shell to make four co-valent bond and Boron has three electron in the valence shell to make three co-valent bond so the all three electron of Boron make three co-valent bond with the three electron of the silicon but the fourth electron of silicon can not make co-valent bond due to lake of an electron so because of this reason the empty space is created and this empty space is called "hole".

In the p type semiconductor the existence of p type material is very large so it has more holes as compared to the electron .

It is clear from the above reason that the majority carrier in p type semiconductor is holes and the doping material is trivalent.
