HEY DEAR ...

Let Kanchan have Rs X with her in the beginning.

     Then   Rs X/2 she is left with after shopping.
        Afterwards 1/3 of (X/2) is spent on rickshaw.
           So (1 - 1/3) rd of (X/2) is what she is left with.

     (2/3) * X/2 is left with her after rickshaw fare.
            =>   X/3 = Rs 20

     So  she had  Rs 60. with her in the beginning.

Let's say Kanchan had x rupees. Then she spent \frac{1}{2} x rupees in a shop. That means she had \frac{1}{2} x rupees left. That means she spent \frac{1}{2}x×\frac{1}{3} =\frac{1}{6}x rupees in Rickshaw Fare.

So, she spent \frac{1}{2}x rupees in one place and \frac{1}{6} x in the other and had 20 rupees left after that. We can write this as a following equation:

x-\frac{1}{2}x -\frac{1}{6}x=20. Simplifying the left side, we get \frac{1}{3}x =20, and multiplying both sides by three, we get x=60. So, Kanchan had 60 rupees in the beginning.
